Media Scanner is a tool intended for scanning digital media,
such as Audio CD, CD-ROM, or hard drive, in order to find digital tracks, load all necessary
information from their tags and save the results to your music database.

Scanning media of any digital format
Processing the most popular file formats, such as MP3, M4A, WMA, OGG, WAV, etc.
Reading tags of most popular formats, such as ID3 v1 & 2, Vorbis, etc.
Possibility of updating track names from FreeDB
Sorting, renumbering, bookmarks, organizing tracks into albums
If you prefer analogue music media, such as vinyl records, tapes, or compact
cassettes, Media Scanner allows you to add albums to your music database manually. This mode
provides you with all features available in scanner mode with the exception of digital-specific ones,
e.g. loading track name from tag.
All other features, such as sorting, renumbering, bookmarks are available for manual mode.
