Mosquito (1994)Psychotic WaltzProgressive Metal Psychotic Waltz is american progressive metal band, which currently is splitted-up and doesn't release new albums since 1994. Thus, "Mosquito" is their last album. As far as I understood, Psychotic Waltz has never been a widely known band, so I didn't expect anything special from this album when I got it for listening. However, I listened to "Mosquito" with pleasure and got satisfied with it. At least I liked Psychotic Waltz much better than Fates Warning, whose album I reviewed a week ago. This album is a bit monotonous, but some parts of it are interesting enough. "Lovestone Blind" and "Shattered Sky" are the tracks I like the best on this album. The second of them drew my attention because of a flute (!) appearance. I can't remember if I listened to any metal composition performed with use of flute before, but I like how this is done by Psychotic Waltz. In other words, I can say I like this album and I'm going to search for other works by Psychotic Waltz in the near future. |
