Compilations are special track groups you have composed according to your
musical taste or current mood. For instance, if you are an alternative rock fan, you can create
a new compilation named "My Alternative Favorites" and put the best tracks of your most favorite
performers there.
We use the "Favorites" term to identify the representation mode, which
reflects compilations. This term is exact and clear enough to describe the purpose of such kind
of music database items. Also the way you can use compilations in Melomania is similar to
the way you use your favorite bookmarks in web browsers.
Melomania allows you to create an unlimited number of compilations
for each music database.
Filters are the sets of customized conditions intended for selecting tracks
from music database and representing them on the screen. The simple example of what the filter
might be is the condition for selecting all the tracks from albums released in a particular year.
The list of criteria, which can be used in filters, is long enough. Here are only few examples:
Artist name contains 'The'
Album genre is equal to 'Pop'
My rating is greater than 7 of 10
Artist country is equal to 'England'
Track name contains 'favorite'
Melomania allows you to create an unlimited number of filters for
each music database.
