The Human Equation (2004)AyreonProgressive Metal As I suspected two weeks ago, "The Human Equation" is really better than "Into the Electric Castle", but not as much better as I thought, however. I can't say it's an all-time masterpiece, but this is a solid, high-quality progressive metal opera made in best traditions of Arjen Anthony Lucassen. This album is also valuable for me because Dream Theater's vocalist James LaBrie appears on it as one of characters of the opera. In short, "The Human Equation" concentrates everything that I like in progressive metal: interesting conception, extraordinary arrangements, and excellent performance. |
