Into the Electric Castle (1998)AyreonProgressive Metal This is probably the best album of Ayreon, an Arjen Lucassen's project that unites a number of rock stars playing their roles in grand prog-metal opera. Being classified as progressive metal project, Ayreon doesn't actually sound too heavy, so it may be recommended even to persons who don't listen to metal seriously. I haven't listened to the recent Ayreon's "The Human Equation" yet (I suspect it's much better), but anyway I consider "Into the Electric Castle" one of the best Lucassen's works and a good place to start with Ayreon. |
